
SEAN MURPHY
DVM, Dipl ACVS (Small Animal)
Dr. Sean Murphy is a Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at WestVet Specialty and Emergency Center in Boise, Idaho, where he has practiced since 2007. He earned his DVM from Colorado State University and completed a surgical residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons that same year.
Dr. Murphy’s clinical interests include orthopedics, joint reconstruction, and minimally invasive surgery with particular interests in arthroscopy and fluoroscopy. His current research projects include meniscal repair, stifle stability post osteotomy, subscapularis and medial shoulder pathology, common calcaneal tendon pathology and hip arthroplasty.
Dr. Murphy has been involved in orthopedic device development for MIS and ORIF application in conjunction with clinical trials. An active educator, Dr. Murphy regularly provides surgical instruction to the interns and residents at WestVet and through continuing education lectures and labs. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys many outdoor sports that Idaho has to offer.
