Miranda graduated as a vet from Cambridge university in 2001, having first attained an MA in zoology from the same institution. She worked for 6 years in small animal first opinion and rescue animal medicine, where she developed a love for surgery. She then undertook an internship and residency in small animal orthopaedic surgery, passing the RCVS Diploma in small animal surgery (orthopaedics) in 2016.

Miranda still works in private practice, enjoying all aspects of orthopaedic surgery. She is an examiner for the BSAVA certificate in small animal surgery and regularly teaches on the AO principles course.
