
LOÏC DÉJARDIN

Déjardin is the MSU Brinker Endowed Chair of Surgery, SA Orthopedic Prof. and a Founding Fellow of the ACVS MIS SA Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship.
Déjardin authored ~100 research proposals and holds 5 US patents. He received several prestigious awards in veterinary/human medicine and engineering (O’Donoghue Sports Injury Research, Zandman, Distinguished PostDoc Alumnus and Zoetis Research Excellence). He authored >250 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts, 20 book chapters and ~600 presentations.
As an AO Foundation International Faculty and former Trustee, he regularly speaks at national and international meetings and courses. Dejardin is a former member of the AO Technical Commission and Small Animal and Global Expert Groups. He started the MSU MIO in 2000 and developed an interlocking nail suited for MIO, well as technologies devised for MIO of sacroiliac luxations. From 2009 to 2022, Déjardin created and chaired the 1st AOVET MIO Master Course.
His clinical and research interests include traumatology, MIO and EPO, revision surgery and total joint replacements, biomechanics, implant and instrument design, and surgical techniques development. Since 2015, Déjardin has taken a leadership role in advancing robotics and navigation in veterinary orthopaedics.
