
JULIEN CABASSU
DVM, Dipl ACVS, Dipl ECVS
Julien Cabassu is working as a small animal surgeon in a private practice located in South France since 2012. He is an ACVS and ECVS diplomate. He graduated in 2006 from Maisons-Alfort, in France.
After a 3-mont AO fellowship at Texas A&M in 2006, he worked as a research associate at Michigan State University during one year on the development of the iLock, an angle stable interlocking nail, directed by Pr Loïc Déjardin. He completed his 3-year small animal residency at Tufts University and Angell Animal Hospital in Boston. During his residency he developed specific interests in minimally invasive procedures and traumatology.
He then worked one year as a clinical instructor in the university of Montreal before going back to France to work in a private practice.
Since he came back to France, Julien has developed MIS procedures such as arthroscopy and orthopedic procedures with or without intraoperative fluoroscopy in his department, as well as regenerative medicine. He is a involved in the orthopedic department of the SA French veterinary association and in AOVet as an international faculty and chairperson. He is also a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings.
