
DAVID DYCUS

Dr. Dycus earned his veterinary degree from Mississippi State University, completed an internship at Auburn University, and returned to Mississippi State for a combined surgical residency and Masters degree.
He has delivered over 300 continuing education lectures, taught more than 150 labs, published numerous articles and textbook chapters, and co-edited the textbook: Complications in Canine Cranial Cruciate Ligament Surgery. Recognized with the Veterinary Hero’s Award in surgery (2023) and named a top veterinarian by DVM360.com (2018), Dr. Dycus contributes regularly to veterinary publications and has appeared on Sirius XM’s Doctor Radio.
He instructs various orthopedic techniques, serves as faculty for AO and the UPenn Working Dog Practitioner Certification, and is an orthopedic consultant for VIN. Previously an associate editor for Veterinary Surgery, he currently holds leadership roles with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, AO North America, and AVORE.
Certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner since 2015, Dr. Dycus founded Fusion Veterinary Orthopaedics—specializing in advanced fracture repair, arthroscopy, limb deformity correction, joint replacement, and sports medicine—and Ortho Vet Consulting, focusing on education and orthopedic coaching.
